I understand your question. I guess my blog is mainly to recruit North Americans to becoming ministry partners and once we make the move it will also be used to keep them up-to-date on things going on in our lives.

While I know I have many non-North Americans reaching the site (Guten Tag by the way), my target audience is on the West side of the Atlantic.

I think blogging can be a useful tool if you are willing to put the time into it but if you don't think so, stay away. There's nothing worse that going to a blog and seeing that nothings been added for months.

I am also using this blog to work on my writing skills. Being a computer programmer, I do need to be able to write well but I have never been able to.

Hope that helps you out.

So did you hear the news about the possibilities of lettuce making people sick? No really, I'm not spamming your blog but it was on Dateline tonight (Sunday - April 30). Ok, so you're not in the US; surf the net - you're bound to find something.

Well, I think I ate some bad lettuce yesterday so I've just been browsing the internet tonight doing what I call "research" on ministry websites. I've been doing this for about a month or longer now.

Anyways, I've somewhat surprised about how many GEM ministry websites or blog sites I've come across. Really, it's funny. Perhaps you can explain the whole blog thing too me. I'm not sure I get it. Sure, I might leave a comment hear or there but really why blog? Is it for fun? Is it to recruit ministry partners? Keep in touch with ministry partners? Family?

No, really. I'm serious here. Why blog? How in the world is it so popular? You know about the email containing a link from a Portuguese blogger containing his advise for missionary wanna-be's. So I'm trying to decide whether to be alarmed that I can so easily gain access to people's blogs (some whom I've never even met) - or - whether I just need to get with the blogging program already.

Now, really this is research...I'm planning to leave this comment on at least four sites tonight.
