Bonjour! France is a truly beautiful country and one of the larger countries in Europe. A huge influencer in Europe and the world, France is a place where there are now more mosques than protestant churches. This is a place where to speak about Christianity brings up more images of the Crusades, the Inquisition, and rich, indulgent lifestyles rather than knowing God in a personal way.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We praise You that You are a God who want us to know You personally and that You already know us intimately. On behalf of those that call themselves followers of You, I ask for forgiveness for the atrocities and extravagances that have been done in Your Name, both in the past and that which is being presently done throughout the world. These were things that were done to make certain people look good or give them more power rather than to worship and praise You. I pray for the people of France that they would move past what they think is Christianity and find the personal, intimate relationship that they can have with You. Embolden those that do know You to share how You have changed their lives with their neighbors and co-workers. Amen.
